Advantages And Disadvantages Of Electric
                          Vehicle

Vehicle which works on electricity is called Electric Vehicle. An electric vehicle may be powered through a collector system by electricity from off vehicle sources, or may be self contained with a battery, solar panel etc.

Although electric vehicles are very popular these days but they have their advantages and disadvantages .

Advantages:

1. No Petrol And Diesel:

Petrol and diesel are used as fuel in internal combustion vehicles. But amount of petrol and diesel are limited in our world. So, if we keep on using them as fuel, very soon it will be finished. To overcome this problem we need electric vehicles. As electric vehicles work on electricity, petrol or diesel are no longer needed as fuel. This way we can save a large amount of oil.

2. No Wastage Of Energy:

A internal combustion vehicle engine releases it's one third energy to the surrounding.Naturally we can't utilize the total energy. But in electric vehicle there is no way that the energy can be wasted. So, we will be able to utilize full energy. As a result electric vehicles are more efficient.

3. Chargeable At Home:

Electric vehicle can be recharged form an external source of electricity. And the electricity is stored in a rechargeable battery present in the vehicle. These batteries can be charged at home. So, we don't have to take our vehicles to the petrol station anymore.

4. Eco Friendly:

Burning fuel is not required in electric vehicle. So, it doesn't emit any poisonous gas that can harm our environment.

5. Low Maintenance Cost:

Price of petrol is rising day by day. You need to refuel a petrol vehicle every now and then. It becomes so costly.  But lifespan of a electric vehicle battery is 5-8 years. Once you have the battery, you just need to recharge it. That's way electric vehicles have lower maintenance cost.

Disadvantages:

  1. Too Expensive:

The reason electric vehicle is more expensive than a conventional vehicle is the cost of the battery. It alone makes a difference of several thousand of euros. The batteries are expensive because of the rough material used in it. As well as the expensive processing involved in it. But it can be said that once the use of electric vehicles are increased, the expense of these vehicles will decrease.

2. Longer Charging Time:

It takes lesser time for a petrol car to get refueled. But as the electric vehicles are recharged by electricity, it takes a little bit longer time to charge.

3. Recharging points:

Right now there are not many charging station for electric vehicles. So, if you don't have sufficient charge  before leaving you house you may be in trouble.

4. Under Developed:

The electric vehicle industry has just started growing. We don't have many advanced cars till now. This technology needs to be advanced further more. They can be used as a transportation car but still they can't be used as a racing car. It can be said that by the year 2025 we shall see a huge development in this industry.
